Regression hypnosis

Past-life regression - a spiritual experience, a symbolic one, or both?

Do past lives exist? I am not going to try to convince you of them.

And, perhaps more importantly, during a regression I also do not try to prove to you that what you experience is a record of a historical event from another life.

For me the question "did this really happen?" is not always the most interesting question you can ask after such a session.

What can appear during a regression?

Images. Places. Figures. Emotions. Relationships. Stories you had not consciously created before.

Sometimes they are very detailed. Sometimes more symbolic. Sometimes they resemble a dream, and sometimes the person experiences them as extraordinarily real.

And here an important line is needed. Hypnosis is not a reliable tool for confirming the historical truth of memories. Research on hypnosis and memory shows that suggestion can increase confidence in memories without increasing their accuracy. That is why I do not treat what appears during a regression as proof that a given event actually took place.

Does that mean regression makes no sense?

Not to me. You can take the experience on several levels.

If you have a spiritual worldview, you may take it as the experience of a previous life. If you do not know what you believe, you can stay with the question mark. If a psychological perspective is closer to you, you can treat the images as a symbolic story created by the mind.

I do not need to settle that for you.

Something else interests me

Let us say that during a regression the story appears of a person who spends her whole life caring for others, never asks for help, and dies with the sense that she did not live her own life. Is that a previous life? I do not know.

But if you come to a session precisely because today you take responsibility for everyone around you and cannot leave any room for yourself, that experience matters to you whatever you call it. And that meaning is what we can work with.

Do you have to believe?

No. In fact I sometimes very much enjoy working with people who say: "I do not know whether I believe in this, but I am curious."

Because then we are not trying to confirm anything. We are exploring. Without any requirement to change your worldview by the end.

And Life Between Lives hypnosis?

That is also a form of exploratory regression work, in which experiences interpreted as the space between lives may appear.

As in past-life regression, I do not assume in advance what you will see. I do not promise a meeting with particular beings or guides, or "the answer to everything".

I guide. I ask. And the interpretation of the experience stays on your side.

A good question after a regression

Not always "was that real?" Sometimes far more comes from: "why did this particular story appear in response to the question I came with?" "What did I see about myself?" "Does anything in this experience change the way I look at my life today?"

You can leave the metaphysics open. And still take something important away from the session.
